Three years ago, Willis Custom Yachts acquired American Custom Yachts, forming a powerful partnership between renowned boat builder Mark Willis, founder of Willis Marine, and accomplished entrepreneur Brooks Smith.
Mark Willis has been crafting custom sportfishing yachts since 1983. With advancements in technology, along with a dedicated in-house CNC department, expert architects, and skilled boatbuilders, Willis Custom Yachts continues to push the boundaries of sportfish construction—creating faster, lighter, and more durable sportfishing yachts.

At Willis Custom Yachts, we take pride in providing our customers with attentive project oversight. As soon as you contact us, you are assigned a skilled estimator who will work with you to develop a detailed scope of work and provide a comprehensive estimate. Once your vessel arrives at our facility, all project details are handed over to a project manager. You will be assigned a dedicated project manager for the duration of your vessel’s stay.
Our project managers are experts in their field and have the knowledge and experience to oversee every aspect of your vessel’s workload, from routine maintenance to repairs and custom refits. We are committed to providing you with the highest level of quality standard in everything we do, and we take great care to ensure you leave our yard satisfied with your experience and pleased with the outcome of the work done on your vessel.
Charting New Horizons: Upgrades, Partnerships, and Expansion at Willis Custom Yachts
Over the past three years, Willis Custom Yachts has been dedicated to enhancing our facility on Jack James Drive while also strategizing ambitious expansions on our 35-acre property. In 2024, we’re excited to see these plans come to life, marking a significant milestone in our journey. We’re excited to share our latest advancements with you.
Completed Projects: We’ve recently unveiled our state-of-the-art addition to our covered bays, significantly enhancing our service capabilities by offering covered space for up to 8 more vessels up to 150′ in length. In addition, we’ve proudly inaugurated Bausch Towers’ new workshop, a cutting-edge space that will be fitted with an overhead extendable crane to lift the fabricated towers from the shop, directly onboard the boat.
Upcoming Developments: Our expansion plans are forging ahead with the installation of pavers across the remainder of the South portion of our yard. This upgrade will provide 10 additional service slips on the hard, enhancing our capacity and convenience for a cleaner yard for our clients. We’re also in the design phase of two major projects: a 60,000 square foot new build facility and a 22,000 square foot building dedicated to hosting composites. These facilities are set to revolutionize our new build operations, offering unparalleled on-site space and resources to serve you better.

Our facility is accessible from the Atlantic Ocean access via the St. Lucie inlet and the Gulf of Mexico via the Okeechobee Waterway.
Located between I-95 and the Turnpike, our facility is accessed easily by both water and land.
